After a string of murderous vehicle stops last week, ICE leadership finally ordered agents to pause them.
Then Trump stepped in and reversed the order himself.
His quota of 2,000 arrests a day matters more to him than wanton murder.

In late June, an 85-year-old German man with dementia named Adrian Andreas Florian died after roughly ten months in ICE custody. He spent his final months moving between a detention center, a nursing home, and a hospital before dying alone at 4:30 in the morning. On the same day that ICE killed Guerrero in Maine, a man running from agents on foot was hit by an 18-wheeler and killed. Then just two days ago, agents grabbed an elderly woman on her way to chemotherapy and disappeared her into custody. Even when a story does break through, the version that reaches the public usually arrives with the important parts sanded off by Trump’s goons. The timeline gets fuzzy, the cause of death becomes conveniently vague, and the agents who were in the room never end up with their names attached to any of it. Filling in those blanks is the whole point of our work. We pull the records and reconstruct the timelines piece by piece. Then we lock all of it away somewhere this administration cannot reach or quietly scrub. This jackbooted administration has made clear they will not stop, so neither will we.
