Medicaid is under attack and we have an opportunity to fight back. The Trump Administration has published a final rule that will strip health coverage from millions of working families through their punitive Medicaid “work requirements” and the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services is accepting public comments until July 31, 2026. If you’re brave enough to speak out, submit your public comment now. The Trump Administration is lying about the realities of the program and we cannot allow them to codify those lies into law without creating a public record of the truth. The big lie about implementing what they are calling ‘work requirements’ hides the fact that right now the majority of Medicaid recipients are already working for poverty wages and earning less than $15,650 a year. The reason Trump and his allies lied about gutting Medicaid and making it harder for people to see their doctors was to pay for the tax cuts for millionaires and billionaires that they passed last year. Under this lie-fueled new rule, thousands of working-class and disabled people will be forced to navigate under-funded, complicated state bureaucracy on a regular basis to prove that they are still living in poverty. We need to expand access to healthcare, not put more complicated barriers in between people and their doctors. Use your voice and submit a public comment to push back against this cruel effort. Here's what the data shows:
We cannot let this change go into effect without fighting back. Even if we lose this round, the more people we have on the record in the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services public comments, the more it will strengthen our ability to undo these cuts once the Trump Administration is overthrown.
