A Brutal Week For The Regime: Epstein’s Secretary Contradicts JD Vance, 101 Former Judges File Complaint Against Trump’s AG Todd Blanche, and Military Reinstates Flu Shots After Hegseth’s Outbreak
Plus, a federal judge halts ICE’s courthouse ambushes nationwide
The regime insists it’s winning. This edition is proof it’s not. Thanks for being here.
Before we jump in: the regime has billions of dollars and an army of people paid to lie for them. We have you. Hit the ❤️ like button and restack this edition right now—when you do, the truth travels to everyone who follows you. That’s how we beat big money—with people like you. Tap it now.
And if you’re reading free: every day I tell you what Trump did and who’s fighting back—and then we organize, turning it into the calls and emails that actually move Congress. No ads, no corporation, no one who can pull the plug on a story. Just readers. Become one of the people who keeps it running by joining us as a paid subscriber today:
Now, let’s get into it.
101 JUDGES JUST CAME FOR BLANCHE
Todd Blanche spent years as Trump’s personal defense lawyer—the man who sat next to Trump in court and fought to keep him out of prison. Trump rewarded him with the top law enforcement job in the country: acting Attorney General of the United States.
On Sunday, 101 former federal and state judges decided that wasn’t going to go unanswered and filed a 73-page complaint against him with the New York State Bar.
According to the complaint, Blanche created a $1.776 billion fund to shield Trump and his family from IRS liability. It alleges he used the DOJ to target Trump’s political enemies. And it charges he failed to release all of the Epstein files—which mention Trump more than 38,000 times.
Norm Eisen, co-founder of Democracy Defenders Fund, put it plainly: “Todd Blanche has spent the last year and a half demonstrating loyalty to one man: Donald Trump.”
Blanche’s Senate confirmation hearings are July 15 and 16. He walks in with 101 judges already on the record against him. And the question everyone should be asking: why is the man who kept Trump out of prison now guarding the files that could put him there?
SHE BOOKED TRUMP’S CALLS WITH EPSTEIN
Donald Trump says he barely knew Jeffrey Epstein. JD Vance went on The View last week and backed him up—insisting their friendship ended decades ago. “Jeffrey Epstein hated Donald Trump,” Vance said.
Then a new transcript came out.
Lesley Groff was Epstein’s executive secretary for 18 years. Epstein called her “an extension of my brain.”
On Tuesday, the House Oversight Committee released the record of her interview: Groff testified that she personally arranged phone calls between Epstein and Trump several times a year for at least a decade—calls that continued well into the 2000s. Asked to describe the two men’s relationship, she said: “I suppose they were friendly.”
The committee has been pulling on this thread for months. Rep. Stephen Lynch didn’t hold back: “I just question whether she can rightfully and truthfully maintain that she saw nothing improper.” The truth is coming out piece by piece—a transcript here, a witness there—and no amount of spin on daytime television is putting it back.
Lesley Groff protected Epstein for 18 years and still admitted the friendship to Congress. JD Vance went on TV and said they were enemies. One of them spent a decade in the room. The other is just lying for Trump.
HEGSETH KILLED FLU RULE. OUTBREAK FOLLOWED.
In April, failing Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth ended the military’s requirement that soldiers get annual flu shots—a rule that had stood since 1945. He called the requirement “absurd,” and said troops deserved the freedom to decide for themselves.
Eight weeks later, more than 200 recruits at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio were sick with influenza.
The Army, Navy, and Air Force have now quietly reinstated the requirement for all new recruits. No press conference. No video. No apology.
Ideology lost. Science and common sense won.
JUDGE SHUTS DOWN ICE AMBUSHES
For more than a year, federal agents have been staking out immigration courthouses—waiting for people to finish their scheduled hearings and arresting them on the way out. Not criminals on the run—people following the law, showing up when the government told them to.
On Tuesday, a federal judge ended it—for the entire country.
US District Judge P. Casey Pitts threw out the policy in a 71-page ruling. ICE courthouse arrests are now limited to genuine emergencies like national security threats.
“For 80 years,” Pitts wrote, “Congress has commanded federal agencies to think before they act.” ICE didn’t. The court noticed. People who show up for their hearings deserve a system that shows up for them—and now they have one.
This wasn’t just one good day. It was one good week—and it wasn’t an accident.
This is what it looks like when the people fight back. Judges who refuse to be intimidated. Members of Congress who won’t stop digging. A regime caught being wrong and forced to back down.
That’s the whole story we tell here. Not that everything is fine—but that the wins are real and they’re adding up.
We don’t just report the news—we organize. Readers of this newsletter have made millions of calls and emails to Congress over the last decade—real people, picking up the phone, making sure those in power hear them.
If you’re not yet a paid subscriber, come join us. No big corporation owns this newsletter, and nobody funds it but readers like you. That independence is the whole point. I’d be honored to have you with us.
Somewhere out there is a person who used to fight and then got tired. Maybe you know them. Hit the ❤️ and re-stack this edition to send them proof that we are still winning. A few taps does it.
Onward!
Scott

COMMENTS:
I love it. A brutal week for the regime and real wins for accountability.
Looks like JD Vance is going to need a second couch. One for psychotherapy 3 times a week.
Maybe... I cannot think of one mental health professional who might be willing and available to work with Justa Dick. Couches or no couches.
They could just charge Vance high and then play games on their phone while he is talking.
As a mental health professional, I can confidently say that there is no hope for Vance to change at all. I wouldn't go near it!
From DAILY DOSE OF DEMOCRACY:
JD Vance "worried" his kids will become "weird chicken people"
Cosplay hillbilly JD Vance sat down for a softball interview with The Blaze and got some feelings off his chest, opening up about the chicken coop his family recently installed at the vice presidential residence. Never one to not make things incredibly weird, Vance explained his concerns: "They love chickens, like almost weirdly. Like, I am worried they're going to be like weird chicken people now because they obsessively want to …sit in the chicken coop and it stinks and there’s poop everywhere."
Not exactly sure what's so weird about kids enjoying the company of animals, but this also doesn't sound all that different from what their dad endures in the Oval Office, if some reports are to be believed.

Spineless cowards who will go down in history as such. I think every one of them should be recalled by their constituents. NOW!!!! The taxpayer is funding their salaries and health benefits, while minimum wage still sits at $7.25/hr and millions are losing their own health benefits and they are willingly ushering in the destruction of our democracy.
So disappointed in those Republicans that caved. I really thought there was some hope.
Every one of these stories has the same theme: the truth keeps leaking out, and they can’t plug the holes fast enough. Accountability isn’t theoretical anymore. It’s happening in real time.
It’s glorious!
Disgusting that the Senate back tracked its position on djt's iran war. Not surprising though, they just proved ONCE AGAIN what a weak willed, ineffective group of limp dicks they are.
Midterms coming.
The senate has confirmed sooo many terrible candidates that I can imagine them confirming Blanche, just look at the tongue lashing they got for passing the war resolution. I don’t think many of them have the guts to vote no! So every time I think the regime is losing ground something happens and the repugs back down!
Trump is very weak. I hope we keep punching.
🏛️ If the Senate confirms Todd Blanche they are complicit in all the corruption and cover up. I hope they don’t, but their record isn’t good. We want accountability.
🍊is panicked 😱 . There is no good way for him to get out of Iran 🇮🇷 except to lie. And his lies aren’t holding up. He has no leverage and is crumbling.
HCR quoted this excellent article by Phillips O’Brien https://phillipspobrien.substack.com/p/midweek-update-16-negotiating-without?r=embqn&utm_medium=ios
Iran has no reason to allow him to lie. They have him right where they want him.
Check out Liz Oyer on Substack for intimate professional (both!) knowledge & outrage about Todd Blanche. She is a lawyer who is dedicating her life to opposing his having any more power -- she says our democracy is at stake, because he believes in loyalty to Donald Trump over the Constitution & rule of law, and she clearly explains in detail. We must stop him ‼️💔🇺🇸
I believe Oyer was the federal lawyer for pardons, if I heard it right. Ironic!
Well guess what, she can analyze & vet!
He *must* be disbarred before the confirmation hearings!!!!
They better reject him or it will be Emil Bove all over again.
Thank heavens, Scott. The regime certainly seems to be cracking on every level. Thanks again for your positive approach to this whole mess. I appreciate it.
Republican senators are in lock step with the current regime to destroy this country and that means no chance they will stop the. nomination of a lawyer who would be disbarred and indicted for criminal acts if not for the fact he is protected by the regime and by proxy this group of do-nothing senators. BTW, has anyone heard from Mitch lately? If we want to really know what is wrong with this country led by these do-nothing senators, Mitch is at an undisclosed hospital, maybe hospice. He still gets paid his full salary, he still gets free healthcare funded by taxpayers, as these do-nothing senators have already taken away medical insurance, medicare and medicaid and raised the cost of prescriptions for everyone else. Yes, it is hyprocisy at its finest.
Not that I wish anyone ill, but if McConnell stays ill, or in Hospice, or dies anytime soon, he can't vote to confirm, can he? One less vote in a tied Senate is helpful - Pennsylvanians need to be calling / writing to Fetterman every day & tell him he's never getting their vote or another campaign $1 if he votes to confirm Blanche. And the rest of us need to call our senators, even the bad ones like, mine in Florida, & make ourselves heard - especially the ones up for reelection in November.
PENNSYLVANIA is already organizing to DUMP FETTERMAN!
Senator John Fetterman's current term as a U.S. Senator from Pennsylvania began on January 3, 2023, and will end on January 3, 2029. As of 2026, he is serving in his first term.
2028 FETTERMAN WILL BE REPLACED!
My proof is the number of people showing up to vote in special elections and primaries. People are motivated and not deterred by attempts at suppression!
Unfortunately in my hometown only 8% of the voters showed up for our primary this week. Pathetic.
Republicans are just eating up everything Trump is doing and saying. They have no intelligence and are brainwashed. So I think Senate will push through Blanche. Not unless the 101 judges get through first and request Blanche be disbarred which is what should happen, same with Bondi.
So let me get this straight. When you put idiots in charge, bad stuff happens? Who would have thought? Blanche needs to be disbarred, Bondi should be disbarred too. They should both be investigated. And Hegseth needs to be investigated for war crimes. So not only are we spending money on reflecting pools and ball rooms, but now when these guys get removed we will spend billions on investigations of all their crimes.
I wish it had to be paid for by the billionaires who spent hundreds of millions to put us in this position. Maybe they wouldn't support it in the future.
Q1: I have no faith in the GOP controlled Senate. They usually do the wrong thing, that is, support trmp.
Q2: The regime is losing....our courts are holding the line and Democrats are doing well in their primaries and in their races, as in TX. Here in FL Alexander Vindman is 1 point up over the useless trump toady Ashley Moody.
It's hard to say of the Senate will reject Blanche. The Republicans who are slowly ( excruciatingly slow) beginning to question Trump's judgement may not be ready to so publicly stand up to him. Senators like Susan Collins does not use her prestige and influence ( I say that with a heavy degree of sarcasm) to gather Republicans together. She and her best buddy Lisa Murkowski are a group of two. But neither have the clout that the good ole boy network that really runs the Senate has. If one or five of the good ole boys were to stand up loudly it might make a difference. But the feckless Republican majority still lacks the balls they claim they have to make a difference. So, it's hard to know. My guess is he will get confirmed. They are just too many idiots in the halls.
The biggest proof is the regime is losing ground is Trump's inability to focus on policy. His obsessions are about vanity projects. It is telling and utterly galling that he maintains the shroad over the Kennedy center entry way. Isn't there anyone who would just take it down? The reflecting pool is a joke and still he obsesses over it. I have heard he is hot gluing more golden geegaws on the oval office walls. They are already ridiculous. They are sliding into another marker of his insanity. I don't know what to do about the arch but something should be done to hault it. The East Wing is so wretchedly awful that I have lost words to describe it.
I pray that both the Senate and the house flips. But I doubt it will be by large enough margins to both impeach and remove.
More people are talking about this regime and the speed and lack of veracity in the tales they weave. The tales keep changing, still lacking truth, and pretty soon that cry of "wolf" will be ignored. So many people walked out during DonOld's speech the other day; we're not the only ones fed up with the lies. Great news, Scott!
Epstein hated everyone. From quotes I’ve heard attributed to him he extorted money and favors based on his proof of their illegal sex with children. He used everyone. The children were throw a ways. Their abusers were extorted. Throw da bums out! 86 47
If the senate does not approve Blanche it will be a sign that they are getting their backbone back. They have a choice - do everything that Trump wants and be totally neutered as a senator, or do their jobs and take back their power. Give a tantrum throwing toddler their way and you just reinforce the behavior. Same with bullies. Once they stand up collectively, it will be a different day and Trump (and those who do his dirty work for him) will have to just suck it up. We the people way outnumber the regime and we can do this if our representatives start representing!!!
Blanche, Hegseth, Vance, and ICE… it seems that they are all directly feeling the pushback and dissent of The Resistance.👍 That’s always good news on a Thursday! 😉 😊
Thanks, Scott….💙💙💙💙
I think Trump is going to throw Whiskey Pete under the bus soon for losing his stupid Iran war. He needs a scapegoat.
Imho, the biggest sign that we’re winning is the strength of the judiciary, closely followed by people standing up to the regime’s attacks on human rights. The people of Minneapolis stood up to ICE and CBP, and continued taking videos of their misconduct. They were sometimes arrested for it, but the courage of every day Americans is inspiring.
A brutal week for the Trump Regime is a boost for America and for democracy. Donald Trump and his evil regime have no love for America or for democracy, and Governor Shapiro of Pennsylvania is correct in distancing his state’s 250 years celebration of the nation’s birthday from anything that smacks of the Trump Regime.
If the Senate fails to reject Blanche, every voter needs to pay attention to who the Senators are that support such outright illegal action.
The fact that a few republican Senators and House members are actually growing a partial ball, more and more lawyers are standing up to the illegal actions and some FOX news folks are separating themselves from the regime's leaders, signals to me that the treasonous grifter in charge is beginning to slip off his pedestal.
I wish I was in a position to do something about the USPS. I hope someone steps up to stop more voter disenfranchisement.
Scott, your Substack shows daily how much this administration is losing ground. I don’t tune in to legacy media to see the message the rest of America sees, but the NYT, The Guardian, the various substacks I’m on all seem to indicate a government in a desperate scramble. Now, trump is holding the bipartisan housing bill hostage, demanding the SAVE act pass. If election integrity is still stuck in people’s craw, I hope they choke on it because our elections do not need reform. Numerous- MORE than numerous — studies of machines, the process, mail-in voting, ALL of it PROVES that the problem trumpstein has claimed all these years (and obviously still claims) are FALSE. He is such a failed manipulator- only the brainwashed cult followers believe a word he says anymore.
I have found myself trusting what Tehran says over trump, which speaks volumes - I’m not alone.
Brutal will be when this administration is no more!!!!! Thank you Scott for helping us to see the light at the end of this dark, orange tunnel!
No Senator who loves this country and upholds the oath of office can vote to confirm Blanche. Enough is enough.
Scott, I follow three accounts daily for my news. You, Dean Blundell and Aaron Parnas. You are my favorite followed by Dean. I had a paid subscription to Aaron Parness, but when I learned and realized that he does not support fighting the war on Gaza, I stopped. Keep doing what you’re doing we need you! ❤️
Good day Scott, it’s been a while since I’ve provided comments. However, after listening and viewing current information on this regime and its felon leader, I’m compelled to leave a few thoughts for all. Starting with:
1. The war in Iran, that America was dragged into without the consent and support of Congress, is a complete and abject failure!
2. Destruction of the reflection pool, and then attempting to blame it on “vandalism”! I don’t know about you or your readers, I want proof of vandalism, not just the words coming out of a pathological liar!
3. The so called “Save Act”, which should be rebranded “Voter Suppression”! Which is what it truly is!
4. Incompetent people leading our Federal government institutions weakening our security and safety.
5. Corruption at an appalling rate. Examples being “pay me and you can have the store”, Qatar airplane, costing American tax payers millions to refit, only to be turned over to the felon when he leaves office, Todd Blanche, the felon’s personal lawyer, working overtime to coverup for the felon to be even considered as AG for the people is absolutely absurd!
Our entire country is inundated with out right in our face corruption at the highest levels of our Federal government which many of our elected representatives refuse to hold the felon in check as well as his appointees is absolutely infuriating! They must do their F’n jobs for the American people who elected them into office! Their failure to do so lets us all know that we must elect people that represent us and not a convicted felon robbing us blind!
WIll the Senate reject Blanche's nomination - Nah - not a chance. This is far and away the most PATHETIC, SPINELESS Congress in history.
Proof they are losing ground? The outcome of elections around the country. The 3 candidates winning in NY blew my mind.
Restacked because as many people as possible need to know about these wins.''
I appreciate you and Aaron Parnas. And Heather Cox Richardson and Heather Delaney and others keeping the truth out there and keeping our spirits lifted. Sometimes it feels like an absolute roller coaster. We take 1 step forward and 2 back. I think project 2025 is winning and I hate that. I pray all the resistors can keep up the fight and the tide will actually turn. I don't believe it will be over until this regime is removed from office. They will keep trying to push through every heinous idea until they are literally removed. 47 will not admit defeat to anything. And there are too many people standing right there when he finally falls to pick it up. As long as the Republicans can be threatened and bullied, there will continue to be this nightmare.
No black or brown immigrants are safe in this country anymore. When the extreme court can oust a congressionally mandated program such as TPS there is no longer hope or safety.
I agree with you that black and brown people, both immigrant and not, are under constant threat.
But my point is that arresting people who showed up at court as required by law for hearings on asylum or a final appearance for receiving citizenship, only to be arrested and detained for deportation was egregiously wrong. It is one step in the right direction. There are many more steps that need to be taken.
IT DOES NOT DIMINISH YOUR IMPACT BY SPEAKING OUT AGAINST TODD BLANCHE IN ANOTHER FORUM! (Robert Garcia has been OUTSPOKEN - please remember to support him!)
ROBERT GARCIA circulated this petition:
Donald Trump has nominated his former personal lawyer, Todd Blanche, to become Attorney General of the United States.
Let’s be clear about what that means: Donald Trump wants the public servant charged with enforcing our laws to work for him alone — not the American people.
That's unacceptable.
As Ranking Member of the House Oversight Committee, I've spent months fighting for transparency, accountability, and answers from this administration. The last thing America needs is another Trump loyalist running the Justice Department.
So I'm asking you to take a stand with me and add your name to my grassroots petition demanding that Todd Blanche be FIRED immediately. Can I count on you to add your name?
The Department of Justice should be independent. It should pursue facts wherever they lead and hold the powerful accountable.
It should never be treated as a personal legal defense team for a president. Yet that's exactly what Trump is trying to create.
A new Attorney General won't stop our fight for transparency. It won't stop our oversight work. And it won't stop us from demanding answers.
But we need to show just how many Americans are paying attention. If you agree that the Attorney General should work for the American people — not Donald Trump — add your name today and demand Todd Blanche’s immediate removal. >>
Thank you,
Robert Garcia

PUBLIC CITIZEN is an impressive organization that produces a 'newsletter' filled with FACTS and DETAILS!
They offered this lengthy article regarding BILL PULTE, another unqualified TRUMP TOADIE:
It has been almost a quarter century since September 11, 2001.
Let’s revisit some of what happened in the aftermath of that fateful day:
The 9/11 Commission concluded that failures among our nation’s various intelligence agencies — in particular the CIA and the FBI — permitted the September 11 attacks to occur.
Subsequently, Congress passed the Intelligence Reform and Terrorism Prevention Act of 2004, which was signed into law by President George W. Bush.
That law established a new high-level position in the federal government known as the director of national intelligence.
The director of national intelligence oversees all 18 agencies that make up the federal government’s so-called “intelligence community,” including the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) and the National Security Agency (NSA).
The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) also reports to the director of national intelligence.
The law is crystal clear about the qualifications required of anyone who is in this incredibly powerful position: “Any individual nominated for appointment as Director of National Intelligence shall have extensive national security expertise.”
Now, there is a debate to be had about whether having a director of national intelligence has made Americans safer.
And our country’s intelligence agencies have a long, shameful history. Time and again they have been found to be acting outside the law; spying on their own citizens; infiltrating domestic organizations that oppose racism, militarism, and corporate greed; violating the civil and human rights of people here at home and around the world; installing dictators in other countries; and generally operating in the interest of corporate power and American imperialism.
But there is obviously a role for intelligence agencies within the overall national security interests of the country.
Donald Trump has just elevated a MAGA acolyte named Bill Pulte to be his acting director of national intelligence (after the departure of Tulsi Gabbard, who made a mockery of the position but looks superb compared to Pulte).
A few things to say to say about Bill Pulte:
1. Pulte has zero — forget about extensive, as required by law, but literally zero — national security experience.
2. Worse still, Pulte has demonstrated that he is more than willing to use a government position to attack those Trump considers his enemies.
3. That’s because Pulte is already serving as director of the Federal Housing Finance Agency, where he has ginned up cases of alleged mortgage fraud by Trump’s foes (baselessly, it seems).
4. Now Trump has given this sycophantic henchman the keys to the entire intelligence apparatus of the United States federal government.
5. If Pulte weaponized his position at a housing agency, imagine what he could do with the full national intelligence machinery at his disposal.
6. As if all of that weren’t bad enough, Trump says he is deploying Pulte to investigate his nonsensical claims of election fraud. According to Trump, Pulte is “a very smart guy, and you may find out some things about the rigged elections, etc., etc.”
It’s tempting to see the elevation of such an obviously unqualified bootlicker to such a powerful position as almost farcical. But it could not be more serious. It is yet another screaming klaxon warning us all that we are sliding into authoritarianism.
We are facing the very real risk that the vast powers of our country’s intelligence agencies could be exploited to advance the MAGA agenda and sabotage our elections.
The American people are rightly outraged. And Congress must do everything in its power to get Pulte out of the position of director of national intelligence (or any other role in government).
Tell every member of Congress:
Bill Pulte is manifestly unqualified to be director of national intelligence. And there is every reason to believe that he will exploit his access to our nation’s intelligence apparatus to attack people and groups that Trump perceives as his enemies and to interfere in our elections. Congress must act immediately to force Pulte out of the position.
Click to add your name now.
This is a message for the entire House and Senate, so take action today even if one or more of your members of Congress is a die-hard Trumpist.
Thanks for taking action.
