Majority of TN House Democrats Endorse Pearson for Congress |

Dear Friend, On Tuesday, Tennessee House Speaker Cameron Sexton thought he did a thing when he ejected all 24 Tennessee House Democrats from all House committee and subcommittees. What he did was fire up a majority of House Democrats to form a multi-racial, multi-generational coalition of solidarity against his racist, antidemocratic actions. Speaker Sexton’s move to disenfranchise over 1.5 million Tennesseans from representation on House committees where major decisions are made is a double-down on the racist redistricting vote to eliminate the state’s only majority Black district. This whitelash is not having the intended effect. Rather than cause us to cower down in fear, House Democrats are rising up to meet this challenge head-on in unity. |

Thank you to my fellow Tennessee House Democrats for their pledge of support and endorsement of my leadership to bring justice to District 9 at the ballot box. In other campaign news, the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Tennessee denied our request for a restraining order to stop the racist maps until the lawsuit could be adjudicated. We are undaunted by this news. Whether it is the old District 9 or the new District 9, we are still here. We are still fighting. And the Movement for Justice Rooted in Love is growing.
