                Freedom of the press was intended to protect the people from government tyranny, and                    they can't get Bezos and the Ellisons, et al, to buy up all the press outlets, can they? They                     hate facts, because they have few on their side.

                And, as most people who actually prefer FACTS over “alternative facts” realize by now,                        trump has a specific agenda.

                One of the 14 signs of fascism is control of the press. Unfortunately Trump is rapidly                             accelerating his way through the list. So independent media outlets like MEIDAS are                             absolutely essential now.

                As a former Afghan ally who stood shoulder to shoulder with U.S. forces, I know what it                     means when truth is ignored and voices are silenced. Independent journalism is not far-                    left or right it is necessary. When powerful people attack reporters, it usually means those                  reporters are getting too close to the truth.

                Many of us who risked our lives for freedom are still waiting for our stories to be told and                     our sacrifices to be acknowledged. Networks like MeidasTouch give hope that real                             voices especially the forgotten ones can still be heard. Keep going. The White House Attacks MeidasTouch… Ben Meiselas and MeidasTouch Network Mar 24 Yesterday, we announced that award-winning journalist Scott MacFarlane is joining the MeidasTouch Network as our Chief Washington, D.C. Trump’s Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt rushed out a statement parroting Fox talking points, calling MeidasTouch “far-left media.” Trump’s Communications Director Steven Cheung went even further, lashing out and claiming that reporters who leave legacy outlets “become deranged liberals.” And Trump’s FCC Commissioner Brendan Carr chimed in with a not-so-subtle jab: “Same job, new duty station.” Let’s be clear about what’s happening here. They are attacking a journalist for continuing to do journalism. They are attacking our network for growing too fast to ignore. And they are attacking you — because you are the reason this network exists. Here’s the part they really don’t want you to see: In the first 24 hours alone, Scott MacFarlane’s new YouTube channel has already surged to 65,000 subscribers. We expect it to cross 100,000 imminently. In the same period of time, the MeidasTouch YouTube channel has received 20 million views. That’s not normal growth. That’s a movement. And it tells you everything. While legacy media shrinks… While political operatives try to smear and intimidate… We are building something entirely different. Independent. Relentless. And powered by people. Not politicians. Scott didn’t “change.” The system around him did. And instead of bending to it, he chose to build something new with us. That’s what scares them.
