The government owes you money

Tariffs cost Ohioans $6.5 billion

You deserve a $1,336 refund.

That’s not a slogan. That’s the exact amount the average Ohio household lost because of reckless tariffs, which the U.S. Supreme Court just ruled unconstitutional.

This week, I called for a $1,336 refund for every Ohio household.

Because if the government took your money through bad policy – and that policy was then ruled illegal – you deserve it back. Period.

But politicians like Jon Husted supported those tariffs at every turn, and now? Silence. No urgency. No accountability. No effort to help working people.

And that tells you everything you need to know.

It’s the same mindset Jon Husted brought to Washington that says: Our billionaire and corporate donors come first. Not hardworking Ohioans.

I’m so damn sick and tired of watching powerful people do whatever the hell they want while working families pay the price.

Because there are real consequences to these policies:

I think about the nurse who hasn’t gotten a raise in years, but her rent just went up again. The dad who fills his tank halfway on the way to soccer practice just to stretch his money until payday. The seniors who cut pills in half because prescriptions are so expensive.

When I think about this $1,336, I don’t see a policy debate. I see groceries. Rent. Gas. Medicine. Breathing room for folks who haven’t had any in a long time.

So why are politicians in Washington keeping your money?

Because for many wealthy and well-connected people, there are two sets of rules: one for them, and one for everybody else.

That’s why billionaires get tax breaks while working families stretch every dollar at the grocery store.

That’s why politicians like Jon Husted vote to protect an Epstein co-conspirator just a few weeks after taking a maximum contribution from him. That’s why lobbyists have the ear of politicians like Jon Husted. And that’s why working people get ignored.

Folks, the system is rigged.

Ohioans are already being crushed by rising costs. And when I think about that nurse paying rent, that dad at the gas station, those seniors trying to afford their medication – I know why I’m in this fight.

Because these Washington insiders are not going to just hand working people what they deserve.

We have to fight for it. Together.

We’ll need a massive movement to build a future where hardworking Ohioans are valued and those in power are held accountable, so I’m beyond proud to have you on this team.

I know times are tough, and I don’t ask for help lightly. But this campaign isn’t powered by billionaires – it’s powered by people who are tired of a rigged system and ready to fight for change. And if everybody chips in a little, then together, we can build something stronger.

That’s why this moment matters.

I would love it if I never had to ask, but with our February fundraising drive wrapping up soon, it’d mean a lot if you can support my campaign by signing up to get involved or making a contribution. February is a shorter month than usual and we’re coming up on some key spending decisions, so everything really counts – even $5 or $10.

👋 Before you scroll away:

Sherrod Brown is running for U.S. Senate in Ohio to make life better for working people. He’s delivered real progress to Ohioans and pushed the fight for the Dignity of Work to the forefront of the national conversation.

Winning this race won’t be easy, however. Polling is statistically tied, and dark-money super PACs are set to spend millions to defeat him. We need your help to fight back and fuel our grassroots campaign to victory. Will you chip in today to help Sherrod flip this seat and give workers a real voice in Washington?
