| Plastics industry pollution is everywhere |
|
|
Dear friend, Plastics—made from fossil fuels—are in our homes, our food, and our bodies. The industry that makes them is booming, building plastic manufacturing and trash incineration facilities in the neighborhoods where our children play and creating pollution that can make them sick.
Plastics are everywhere—but so are we. As caregivers, we must demand that Congress take action to protect children from toxic plastics industry pollution. Send your message to Congress today. |
The current administration is determined to prop up the plastics industry at the expense of our health. Last April, President Trump instructed the Environmental Protection Agency to exempt plastics facilities across the country—including the area along the Mississippi River known as Cancer Alley—from vital pollution protections. The move put communities at even higher risks of cancer, asthma and respiratory illness, kidney disease, preterm birth, low birth weight, and other childbirth complications.
It's no surprise that this administration, full of climate change deniers and former plastics industry executives, would refuse to protect our families. But Congress still has an opportunity to prioritize people over polluters' bottom lines.
Join Moms Clean Air Force in demanding Congress protect our families from dangerous plastics industry pollution.
For our children, |
