Since Donald Trump has returned to the White House:   👉 National Guard troops have been deployed without consulting local leaders. 👉 ICE agents have been unleashed in ways that undermine trust and tear families apart. 👉 Members of Congress who don’t live here have overridden local laws with a pen stroke.   That’s not democracy. That’s not freedom.   I was raised in D.C., so I know how deeply federal interference affects real people. It doesn’t show up as an abstract policy debate — it shows up as fear, instability, and a constant reminder that Washingtonians are still treated as second-class citizens.   I’ve spent my career fighting back — first inside Congress, then on the D.C. Council — standing up for local control and the right of our city to govern itself. Now I’m running for Congress to take that fight directly to the source.   But I need your help to get there, so I’m asking you personally to chip in $5, $10, or more right now.
