Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp (R) is required to call a special election within 10 days of Greene’s resignation. Once Kemp announces the special election, it must take place at least 30 days afterward.
All candidates running for Greene’s seat will be listed under one ballot regardless of party, with the top two vote-getters advancing to a runoff in no one candidate notches more than half the vote outright.
Greene’s seat went for Trump by close to 37 points in 2024, according to The Downballot, meaning it’s all but certain to remain in GOP hands.
It would be wonderful if it went BLUE! (I can dream can't I?)
