Duckworth Humiliates Rubio and Exposes The Regime’s Wartime Lies, While The GOP Loses Majority In Minnesota, and California Draws A Hard Line Against Trump’s Abuse Of Power

Plus, America plans biggest rally ever

While corporate media’s busy sanewashing Trump, we’re exposing him for the dictator he is—and we’re mobilizing millions to stop him.

Our Midterm Accountability Project goes beyond our reporting. We generate billions of impressions on social media monthly, provide messaging you can use in your personal circles, and we’ve already driven 600,000 calls and letters to Congress in the last year—with a million more planned before the midterms.

NO KINGS DAY III

The next “No Kings Day” has been scheduled for Saturday, March 28th. Organizers are planning for this to be the biggest mass demonstration in US history.

Leah Greenberg, of the progressive organizing group Indivisible, says: “We are very confident, based on what we are seeing around the country, that the opposition to Donald Trump has only grown.”

Greenberg’s absolutely right. Whether you show up in person or help amplify the events online, I hope you’ll take part.

MASSIVE CHICAGO PROTEST PLOWS THROUGH SNOW

Thousands showed up during blizzard-like conditions in Chicago this week to march against Trump’s rampant immigration abuses.

Mayor Brandon Johnson, who attended the protest, stated: “This moment calls for boldness—not some sort of pragmatic pragmatism to a tyrant. In fact, that’s how we got in this mess in the first place. It’s because we were too tepid. We nibbled around the edges … instead of fighting and standing up for the interests of working people.”

Johnson is calling for “organized resistance, as what we saw organized and prepared in the Civil Rights Movement.” He stated: “We are not okay with ICE killing and shooting innocent people with impunity. We are not okay with this, Chicago.”

DEMS END GOP MAJORITY IN MINNESOTA HOUSE

Democrats delivered two huge special election wins in Minnesota Tuesday night, breaking the short-lived Republican statehouse majority. Shelley Buck and Meg Luger-Nikolai won the seats left vacant after the November 2025 elections.

These wins are part of a larger pattern, with Democrats winning or outperforming their previous margins in 239 of 268 elections since Trump took office again. Should these trends hold, and if people continue to show up, Democrats are well positioned to win back the House and possibly even the Senate.

CALIFORNIA MAKES IT CLEAR

Officials in California made it crystal clear that any federal agent who breaks the law will be investigated by state and local law enforcement. Gov. Gavin Newsom declared: “Given what has happened in Minnesota, we cannot outsource our fundamental duty to protect Californians by simply accepting federal narratives.”

The state’s Attorney General, Rob Bonta, said: “California stands ready to take all necessary steps to investigate potentially unlawful conduct by federal agents that occurs on our soil and, where the facts warrant, file charges.”

And just this week, the California Senate passed the No Kings Act, which makes it easier for residents to sue federal agents for violations of their constitutional rights. The measure now heads to the State Assembly, where Dems hold a supermajority, and it’s expected to pass. Every state should be drawing a line and sending the message that no one is above the law.

DUCKWORTH CONFRONTS RUBIO

Dem Senator Tammy Duckworth dismantled Secretary of State Marco Rubio during his Senate testimony yesterday.

When Rubio made up excuses for using the wartime Alien Enemies Act against Venezuelans in the US, Duckworth snapped back: “Are we at war with Venezuela?” Rubio tried to deflect, so she pressed him again: “This is a wartime act. Are we at war with Venezuela?” Rubio finally responded: “No.”

That’s right, Duckworth actually got Rubio to admit the Trump regime is abusing a wartime power to target immigrants. But she wasn’t done with him yet.

After Rubio repeated Trump’s lie about NATO not coming to America’s defense in the past, Duckworth responded plainly: “When I served in Iraq, there were Polish … British … Spanish forces there with us. Polish troops died in Afghanistan. Our NATO allies have stood behind us.”

This is what fighting back in real time looks like—a direct exchange that forces the Trump regime to actually tell the truth on the record.

That’s the kind of fire we bring to our Midterm Accountability Project—with the aim of turning Trump into a lame duck. We’re generating billions of impressions on social media exposing the regime’s propaganda, we’ve driven 600,000 calls and letters to Congress in the last year, and we’ll hit a million more before November.

Given the unrelenting dishonesty of the Trump regime, we should recognize that there is a glaring hole in the First Amendment. Lies are equally protected, and as the old saying goes, a lie makes it half ways around the world before the truth gets its shoes on. A public figure only risks consequences of lying when under oath, and Trump and his sycophants obviously take advantage of this loophole. Lies flow out of these people with each breath, but they become much more reticent when under oath.

Recall, for example, Trump’s behavior during his fraud trial in 2024. He never spoke in the courtroom, limiting himself to napping and passing gas, but the moment he stepped outside, he spewed lies nonstop to the gathered reporters. His lies were amplified while the emerging facts of the case were barely repeated outside the courtroom.

This needs to be corrected if and when we escaped this dark time. The public should have the right to sue public officials, media outlets and media figures and private citizens who make demonstrably false statements. Dominion sued NewsCorp for financial damages done by knowingly repeating Trump’s unfounded lies about their voting machines. Citizens should be equally entitled to seek damages from liars like Trump. Lord knows, this nation continues to suffer immensely as a result his mendacity.

"Transformative change, by its very nature, will never be easy. And we cannot depend on judges, lawmakers, or administrations to be catalysts. That's why we need people who are passionate enough to give with their hearts; grounded enough to lead with their heads; and courageous enough to take risks, fail, and never give up." — Tim Gill, founder of the Gill Foundation

Life Survival: Here's the brutal truth nobody tells you: the cavalry isn't coming. No politician, no court ruling, no viral tweet is going to save us. Change happens because ordinary people decide they're too fucking stubborn to quit. You don't need to be wealthy or connected or certain—you just need to keep showing up. Today, identify one small risk you've been avoiding. Make the call. Send the email. Have the conversation. Failure isn't the opposite of progress; it's the goddamn currency of it. Every movement that ever mattered was built by people who got knocked down, wiped the blood off their chins, and stood back up anyway.

You never will hear about protests in our cities, or abroad. Trump has the media running scared and should not be giving his lies the time of day. That is why we must support platforms such as this.
