FACT CHECK: TRUMP’S TARIFF “REBATES”

Let me be clear—since corporate media won’t: Trump is lying when he repeats over and over that Americans are going to be getting a $2,000 “rebate” check to offset the costs of his unhinged tariffs.

This weekend the regime’s chief economic adviser Kevin Hassett admitted Trump doesn’t have that authority, saying “Congress is going to have to send those monies.” So no, Trump isn’t handing out checks—he’s just lying as usual.

IN HONOR OF THE REAL TEA PARTY

Around a thousand people showed up to protest Trump during the 252nd anniversary of the Boston Tea Party. Marching while holding “No Kings” signs, the demonstration culminated with a group of activists pouring clean ice into Boston Harbor.

Martha Laposata, who attended, stated: “This is not left or right. This is not progressive or conservative. It’s being American.”

The White House is desperate to distract from the fact that Trump’s all over the Epstein files.

Deputy Press Secretary Abigail Jackson even weaponized a widely available photo of Bill Clinton, Michael Jackson, and Diana Ross with their children—seeming to imply the minors were Epstein victims, stating that the DOJ redacts “victims and/or minors.” This is nothing but disgusting propaganda.

DOJ CALLED OUT FOR DELETING TRUMP PHOTO

The DOJ removed an image from a batch of recently released Epstein files that included a photo of Trump. Their censorship backfired, drawing massive attention to what they were trying to hide. Following public outrage, the DOJ added it back.

Dem Rep. Jamie Raskin called the Trump regime out for their blatant cover-up, stating: “They have not shown any deference or respect for the victims at all, for the survivors of this nightmare ... it’s all about covering up things that, for whatever reason, Donald Trump doesn’t want to go public.”

I look forward to this being used as evidence when people are inevitably investigated and prosecuted for the cover‑up.

CBS TORCHED FOR PULLING PIECE

Recently, 60 Minutes pulled a segment on Trump’s illegal deportations to El Salvador’s CECOT prison. While new CBS News chief Bari Weiss claimed “it wasn’t ready,” a leaked email from Editor Sharyn Alfonsi reveals the story was actually killed because the regime refused to do an interview.

Alfonsi warned that by caving to this tactic, CBS has handed Trump a “kill switch” for any reporting he finds inconvenient.

Alfonsi is right. Corporate media has given the Trump regime a veto over reality while they retreat in fear. Not us. Independent outlets like ours are charging forward, leading the resistance with our Watchdog Coalition, and smashing maga propaganda with our daily news briefs.

The coverup is getting quite messy.

We all need to be aware that this whole plan has been worked in for decades. Trump is a useful puppet. We can’t think getting him out is a time to relax. We need to stay ahead of Steve Bannon, Steven Miller, Heritage , and The Federalist Society. Then we need to root out all MAGA from our government, and put much better guard rails in place.

And all the tech bros who are also funding the take over of our democracy.

We celebrate Thanksgiving as, for us, it is non-denominational. As a Jewish kid, I felt invisible at Christmas time.

I wish I could have been standing alongside the true patriots at the Boston “Tea Party” dumping clean ice into the water. I salute them and thank each and every one of them 👏👏👏🇺🇸🇺🇸

Peace and quiet. That is my primary, and non-negotiable, holiday tradition.

I actually heartily DISLIKE the FORCED family acknowledgment of the “happy holidays” around Christmas. The only thing I ever liked was Christmas dinner. We always invited people who lived alone, or might be shunned by society at large. There was always a gay single man in attendance, and an elderly lady who lived next door alone. We put ALL the leaves in the dining room table, and gathered chairs around our house to seat everyone. Even as my sister & I always washed the dishes - very carefully - I was & remain grateful for those occasions.

What a lovely and kind Christmas tradition. We need more of that generosity and empathy in the world.

Holidays are hard for some of us.

Protests are what we must continue to do as it seems to be bringing more people of different minds together.

Another question….what is actually being built in the White House and called a ballroom?

As an environmental person, I love that they dumped clean ice and not tea into the harbor - next, they should dump ICE agents in, though of course, for the environment, they should scoop up the bodies after they wash ashore.

Isn’t that that Christmas-y? Har! (Joking aside, it *is* Christmas-y when you think of all the holidays and families those ICE agents would otherwise ruin.)

Even if they dumped ICE agents in the harbor for a millisecond, it would likely pollute the whole harbor and kill any marine life nearby. That's how toxic ICE agents are.

True! Or maybe once no longer alive, the bodies can feed the marine life - like a big Christmas feast underwater.

I have a dark imagination when it comes to the fate of this regime and its players.

Trump never goes through congress, but it’s interesting that he will use this as an excuse for why no one gets ‘tariff rebates’. (Which, incidentally, would do practically nothing to offset the inflation and high cost of living trumpstein has saddled us with.)

Rump needs to leave the White House asap - however he needs to do it. I’d prefer a perp-walk to a waiting cruiser to stand in front of a judge he’s ridiculed and harassed and with his bevy of incompetent attorneys (it’s on my list to Santa) but I’ll also take an ambulance ride to the farthest dementia ward as possible, preferably in El Salvador. Here’s to 2026.

A friend sent me the cut CBS segment on CECOT that she found online and I watched it last night. The segment was whitewashed enough already, even without TRump's stamp of approval. It was bland reporting, at best. What is really happening in this place is much, MUCH worse. This Bari Weiss woman is a disgrace to journalism and unqualified for her new job at Paramount. I guess it proves that a $150,000,000 payout for her 'Free Press' blog can buy a person, even if that means losing their integrity. Oh well. ONWARD!
