Weeks ago, when a handful of centrist Democrats folded on the shutdown deal for a pinky promise of a future vote on Affordable Care Act subsidies, we told you Speaker Mike Johnson would never let it happen.  And here we are. Johnson just shut the door on that vote, and the House is packing up for Christmas.  MAGA’s gift to America this year is medical bankruptcy. Without that vote, millions of Americans are about to get hit with higher premiums come January.  Across North Carolina’s 9th District, premiums will rise an average of 95% once these subsidies expire. Every household in this district that opens its next healthcare bill can thank Speaker Johnson and NRCC Chair Richard Hudson for the privilege.
