Christmas Message from Meidas Co-Founder
By Ben Meiselas
Hi MeidasMighty. It’s Ben Meiselas, co-founder of the MeidasTouch Network. Usually my favorite post of the week is my Sunday coffee post. I’m going to make an exception this week, and this Christmas morning post will be my favorite post of the week. Let’s grab a coffee, or eggnog, or a drink of your choice, and let’s reflect on Christmas 2025.
First, it’s hard to believe it’s Christmas already. I know that’s probably something we all say every year as we marvel at how quickly the year went by, but this year in particular felt both tortuously slow and shockingly quick at the same time, if that makes sense to you. My dog is sitting on my lap right now, and I can’t help but think that under the Trump regime it feels like we all age in dog years. One day feels like several months. This might seem like an odd reflection, but it’s what’s going through my mind now.
Also, before I forget, make sure you subscribe to this Substack and help us continue to beat Fox and Joe Rogan as we continue to expand.
Second, there has been a lot of big news on Christmas Eve. I am proud that the MeidasTouch Network broke one of the biggest stories of the year. As you probably know, our reporting identified that at least 1 million records from the Epstein files from the SDNY prosecutors’ office were being concealed by the DOJ in Washington, D.C. Following our reporting right here on Substack, the DOJ announced it had “uncovered” 1 million new records from SDNY and that it would take weeks to go through them. Congressman Robert Garcia, the Democratic Ranking Member on the House Oversight Committee, gave MeidasTouch a shoutout for uncovering this. This is a testament to the editorial team at Meidas that has been built by this community.
Third, I can’t help but reflect on the paradoxical feelings I see across this country of both pain and hope on this Christmas. There is a pain that has been inflicted on the people by this dastardly regime of tyrants. The suffering is real. The pain is palpable, and it’s being felt by people across all political parties—unless you are a billionaire right-wing oligarch.
But while there is pain, and while the country has been battered, I also see more hope than I did during Christmas 2024. We’ve made it through a year. We’ve stood up to a gangster regime. We’ve confronted the regime face to face, and they are weaker. The people are stronger. Trump and Elon Musk (remember her) thought we’d all be subjugated by now. They thought we’d all bend the knee like corporate leaders and law firms and universities. We stood our ground. We stood shoulder to shoulder. We fought back, and the power of the Trump regime is collapsing before our eyes. People feel hope about what a world will look like when Trump is removed from power. We don’t have to live in this doom-cycle loop. We can live in a world of hope and love and moral clarity someday.
Fifth and finally, I want to thank you for being here with us each step of the way. We didn’t set out to beat Fox or Joe Rogan. We started this because my brothers and I were trying to make sense of the evilness and the assault on reason and democracy we saw. We tried to call it out clearly and rapidly and without holding back, and hence this network was born. This is a network built on community. Literally, this network was built by this Substack community, and now it not only competes with all corporate and cable networks, but leads every network on views and engagement on digital platforms.
There is a lot more building we need to do. There is much work ahead. This is not going to be easy, but I am confident that this is just the beginning of what we can achieve together. If this is what we all accomplished together in one year, imagine where we can be this time next year. I look forward to that day when we can finally restore normalcy and democracy together.
Thank you all from the bottom of our hearts, from me and my brothers and everyone at the MeidasTouch Network. Merry Christmas. Happy Holidays. Thanks for spending time together this morning.
