Akio Toyoda, the Chairman and scion of Toyota Motor Corp., recently went full MAGA at a NASCAR-themed race held in Japan, wearing a Make America Great Again hat and a Trump-Vance t-shirt. This is a clear sign that Toyota is no longer the same company that introduced the Prius. Akio Toyoda wants to do anything he can to appease and cozy up to this anti-electric vehicle and anti-climate administration. This stance is wildly out of touch with both Toyota owners and Americans in general. He needs to understand that his association with MAGA will only hurt his brand. So we’re collecting signatures on a petition to tell Toyota: Stop alienating your current and potential customers — cut ties with MAGA and the Trump Administration. But instead of listening to his customers, Akio Toyoda and his company are working with Trump to dismantle emissions standards and kill clean transportation while selling themselves as green automakers. Under his watch, amongst automakers, Toyota has become the most aggressive anti-climate lobbyist and the largest funder of climate deniers in Congress.
