Trump’s personal standing army is here

 

Donald Trump just signed a piece of paper that tells the world exactly what a tin pot tyrant he really is.  He created an executive order that would carve “specialized” units out of the National Guard, training them to deploy into American cities on his command.  He is building his own standing army.  He wants them ready to roll anywhere in the country within twenty-four hours – with no governor, local police, or communities having a say in it. The empty brain trust of Trump and Pete Hegseth really think that turning our troops into extras in Trump’s police state pageant is a good idea. And here’s what this “New National Guard” will really be used for: Trump has now bragged twice in two days that he wants to be a dictator.  He said it to a room full of MAGA gutless wonders actually laughed along with him.  Well, this combat vet is not laughing. I wore the uniform for twenty-four years.  Every veteran knows if a scared leader is creating a strike force that’s pointed at his own people, he has already declared war on the country he swore to defend. Trump is wasting millions of our tax dollars militarizing neighborhoods while kids are rationing school lunches and veterans are being denied care under his Big Bullsh** Budget. As NRCC Chair, Richard Hudson is the treasurer of the MAGA racket, the one who makes sure the money flows from billionaire donors to Trump’s dictator army.  Every Democrat in this country should be setting off alarm bells.  Every Republican who shrugs, or worse laughs, is a collaborator.  And every one of us who still gives a damn has a duty to tear this whole rotten machine down. I have seen what happens when leaders twist the military into a personal weapon and crush anyone who dares to resist.  I fought them in Iraq and Afghanistan, and I know exactly how to fight Trump here at home.
