URGENT ACTION NEEDED: Demand the USDA keep protections for our national forests – and RESIST Trump’s pressure for a catastrophic rollback of the Roadless Rule! TAKE ACTION NOW before the public comment deadline on Sept 19 >> The Roadless Rule currently shields roughly 59 million acres of pristine, undeveloped forest from corporate development by limiting road construction and logging. The rule aims to preserve precious wilderness, fragile ecosystems, and vulnerable wildlife. But Trump’s USDA Secretary Brooke Rollins recently announced the administration’s plans to RESCIND this critical legislation – opening our beloved national forest lands to destructive road-building and timber harvesting. This is just another piece to Trump’s attacks on our planet and public lands. Time and again, we’ve seen him prioritize short-term profits for corporations over the long-term health of our planet: gutting environmental protections in favor of logging and oil industries: all at the expense of people, wildlife, and the planet. Our forests are not only part of our national heritage and culture, but they are home to countless species, sacred places for Indigenous communities, and vital carbon sinks in the fight against climate change. If the Roadless Rule is rescinded, these irreplaceable wildlands could soon be BULLDOZED, FRAGMENTED, and DEMOLISHED into little more than concrete roads and construction zones. We still have time to STOP this ecological destruction, and it’s going to take all of us, Tony. The U.S. Forest Service of the USDA is currently accepting public comments before deciding whether to move forward with rescinding the Roadless Rule – but only for the next 6 days! Can we please count on you to speak up right now in defense of our treasured wild places before next week’s urgent deadline? ADD YOUR NAME: Tell the USDA to defend our forests and uphold the Roadless Rule! >> |
