Trump’s police state stunt is bleeding us $1M a day

 

Every wannabe-dictator needs a stage. Trump’s is Washington, D.C.    And right now it costs the rest of us more than a million dollars every damn day. The National Guard is being humiliated, forced into traffic duty and neighborhood patrols for a bloated coward who brands his authoritarian cosplay as “beautification.” What it really is: a police state in practice, funded by you and me.  Experts say if it drags on for months, it will hit hundreds of millions in taxpayer costs.  That is money that could be keeping families fed, building housing, or fixing schools, but instead it props up the photo ops of a cowardly draft dodger who wastes lives and dollars to make himself look like a fast-food warlord on Fox News. Trump has turned bleeding taxpayers dry into his personal brand, the one thing he’s managed to keep consistent in this sorry excuse for a presidency. He treats Air Force One like his personal Uber and sticks the public with the tab.  His golf trips alone have cost us over $150 million.  Every dollar ripped from working families to fund his vanity is proof he has never run a business in his life without fleecing somebody else.  The scam is always the same: he bullies, he brags, he burns cash, and then he dumps the bill in our damn laps. Richard Hudson and the rest of Trump’s congressional goon squad are happy to let him fleece the working people of this country because the lobbyists and corporate handlers that bankroll them will never have to pay for these scams.  Every dollar you chip in is one dollar less for Trump’s financial lapdog at the RNCC, one dollar closer to cutting off the pipeline of money that feeds this authoritarian rot.
