We’ve been warning for months that Trump’s Medicaid cuts were coming down like a hammer, and here we are just days away from disaster. On Oct. 1st, North Carolina takes a $319 million chunk out of Medicaid providers unless lawmakers step in. That piles onto the $930 billion Trump carved out with his Big Bullsh** Bill. These cuts gut hospitals, crush rural providers, and jack up costs for working families who are already gasping for air. Senate Democrats are fighting tooth and nail to pass a funding stopgap that restores the money. Their plan reverses Trump’s cuts, extends ACA subsidies so families don’t see their premiums skyrocket, and keeps hospitals open in our rural counties. If the MAGA coward slink away from the bargaining table, the government shutdown is their damn stink to wear. Richard Hudson and his congressional goon squad are not stumbling into austerity by accident. They are methodically starving public care so corporate vultures can swoop in with private paywalls, service fees, and yet another round of hedge fund profits. Send me to Congress and I will jam a crowbar in that machine. I’m talking about subpoenas on the table, audits on every sweetheart contract, and public hearings where hospital CEOs and budget hatchet men answer for closures and wait times. It’s time to drag these vermin into the light. They treat these cuts as the price of doing business, anonymous suits counting dividends while people die. Hell no. We will flip the House, rip Hudson’s gavel from his greasy hands, and make every one of them answer to America.
