The Case They Want You to Forget Tom Artyom Alexandrovich, a senior Israeli cybersecurity official working directly under Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, has been formally charged in Nevada with luring or attempting to lure a minor online for sex. He was one of eight men arrested on August 6 in a multi-week sting operation carried out by Nevada police and U.S. federal agents “targeting child sex predators.” According to police reports, Alexandrovich thought he was arranging to meet a 15-year-old girl for sex. In reality, it was a decoy. Under Nevada law, the charge is a felony that can carry up to 20 years in prison. But Alexandrovich isn’t in a Nevada jail. He isn’t even in the United States. Instead, he was quietly released on $10,000 bail — the minimum “standard” amount for the charge — and was allowed to fly back to Israel within days. No passport seizure. No travel restrictions. No extradition process. That alone should have been an international scandal. Skipping Court On August 27, Alexandrovich was scheduled to appear in Henderson, Nevada, for his felony arraignment hearing. He didn’t show up. His lawyer, David Chesnoff — a well-known Las Vegas defense attorney — told the court he had instructed Alexandrovich that he “didn’t have to be there.” But Judge Barbara Schifalacqua immediately shut this down. Looking at the bond documents, she told Chesnoff bluntly: “Suspects released on bond have to make every court appearance.” She denied the request and stressed that the district attorney’s office has “no authority to waive appearances” at felony arraignments. In other words: Alexandrovich was legally required to be in court. He skipped it. Ordered to Appear by Zoom After a tense exchange, the court ruled that Alexandrovich must now appear remotely by Zoom for all future stages of his trial. His new arraignment date has been set for September 3. At that hearing, he will be formally presented with the charges and forced to enter a plea — guilty or not guilty. Judge Schifalacqua also warned she may impose tighter bail conditions, including bans on contact with minors and using social media or dating platforms. That’s right: Netanyahu’s senior cyber official — the man entrusted with building Israel’s “Cyber Dome” AI defense system — may now be legally barred from using social media because he was caught trying to lure a 15-year-old girl. Israel’s Lies, U.S. Finger-Pointing The government of Benjamin Netanyahu initially denied Alexandrovich was ever arrested. Israeli media outlets published spin calling it “brief questioning.” Those lies are now exposed. But the scandal doesn’t stop there. As outrage grew over how Alexandrovich was allowed to fly home, acting U.S. Attorney for Nevada Sigal Chattah (a Trump appointee and an ISRAELI CITIZEN) blasted Nevada’s local prosecutors. She posted publicly: “A liberal district attorney and state court judge in Nevada FAILED TO REQUIRE AN ALLEGED CHILD MOLESTER TO SURRENDER HIS PASSPORT, which allowed him to flee our country.” Clark County District Attorney Steve Wolfson, whose office has jurisdiction over Henderson and Las Vegas, insisted Alexandrovich’s release was “standard.” He told the Las Vegas Review-Journal that anyone charged with this felony can post $10,000 bail and walk free. But the judge just said Steve Wolfson openly lied about Tom not having to attend his hearings. Then veteran Nevada defense attorney Richard Davies told Al Jazeera this case is anything but standard: “The court should be concerned about protecting children in this community and nationwide. So it’s highly unusual — again — to allow this person to leave.” “Fishy” was the word he used. Preferential Treatment Ask yourself: how many foreign officials arrested for child sex crimes in America get released on minimum bail, keep their passports, and board a plane home without extradition? The answer is zero. If this had been an Iranian cyber official, arrested in Las Vegas for soliciting a child, would CNN ignore it? Would the New York Times stay silent? Would he be allowed to skip hearings from Tehran, appearing only on Zoom? Of course not. It would be headline news for weeks. It would be treated as proof of corruption, compromise, and danger to national security. But because this man is Israeli — because he worked at the heart of Netanyahu’s government, building AI systems for Israel’s cyberwarfare unit — the silence is total. The Silence of the Press To this day, CNN, MSNBC, the New York Times, and the Washington Post have not run a single headline with Alexandrovich’s name. Not one. Even now, as Reuters and Al Jazeera confirm the details, as Israeli outlets admit his case is real, America’s most powerful newspapers and networks remain silent. That silence is not neutral. It’s not oversight. It is complicity. Because covering this story honestly would mean admitting that: Israel’s top cyber official was caught in a U.S. child predator sting. He skipped his bail hearing. He is hiding in Israel, facing trial by Zoom. And he received preferential treatment no other foreign official would get. That’s not just newsworthy. That’s explosive.
