Dubbed “Fight The Trump Takeover,” folks are pushing back against the GOP’s scheme to steal US House seats. I hope to see you there. REPUBLICAN ROASTED AT TOWN HALL GOP Rep. Doug LaMalfa hosted a town hall in Chico, CA—and by the looks of things, I’m sure he instantly regretted it. LaMalfa was loudly booed, and repeatedly interrupted. At one point, someone in the audience called him an “a**hole,” and several people shouted “f**k you!” Another attendee gave LaMalfa the finger, to which he replied: “Put that finger down. That's really mature.” When LaMalfa did speak, it was just pro-Trump propaganda and lies. You can’t see me right now, but I’m booing him too. PROTESTING NANCY MACE This week, GOP Rep. Nancy Mace is holding events for her gubernatorial race in South Carolina. At one stop, there was a protest right outside in the rain—she was also confronted inside. Good. We’re talking about a horrible candidate—and person. After the event, Mace got called out by a reporter for hurling a transphobic slur. Mace then gave an unhinged response about them being a Democrat. So pathetic. SHERROD’S BACK Just yesterday, it was reported that Sherrod Brown will be announcing a run for Senate in the coming weeks. Brown has a serious chance of winning in Ohio, also boosting Democratic hopes of taking back the Senate in the midterms. In 2006, I was in Ohio working on a campaign. After an event, I grabbed some leftovers for lunch, and found myself sitting down next to then-Rep. Brown. He was cool, real down-to-earth. Brown won his race for Senate that year, and served 3 terms before losing last November. It would be great to have him back. SERIOUSLY, IT’S NOT ABOUT CRIME Dem Rep. Jamie Raskin—whose congressional district literally borders DC on multiple sides—slammed Trump hard, stating: “Trump knows D.C. crime well because he incited a violent mass insurrection in D.C. with extremist street gangs on January 6, 2021.” Dem Rep. Jasmine Crockett also made it clear: “The man in the White House wants to ‘crack down’ on crime in DC … cute … This isn’t about safety—it’s about power, control, and distraction. If Trump cared about crime, he’d start by looking in the mirror.” Trump doesn’t care about fighting crime. He never has. AN UNLIKELY DUO Next month, Dem Rep. Ro Khanna and GOP Rep. Thomas Massie will hold a press conference in DC, with survivors of Epstein and Maxwell’s abuse. They’ll also talk about their bipartisan effort to make the Epstein files public. Speaking of—where are the Epstein files?
