UPDATE: Save PBS and NPR PROTECT FREE, FACT-BASED PUBLIC MEDIA

UPDATE: The Senate has until this Friday, July 18th to act on the massive PBS and NPR cuts that Trump and House Republicans are pushing. These enemies of the truth are going to be rushing these cuts through this week – and your voice can help stop them.

Tell the Senate to REJECT these cuts and protect public media from Trump's attacks >>

The House of Representatives has co-signed Trump’s attacks on public media – voting to gut PBS and NPR by clawing back $1.1 billion in funding for the Corporation for Public Broadcasting. [1]

It’s on all of us to act NOW and urge the Senate to reject these cuts.

Time after time, Americans consistently rank PBS [2] and NPR [3] as the most trustworthy networks for news and public affairs.

That’s because they deliver free local news, quality programming, and fact-based independent journalism – without any corporate or political agendas, as they are required by law to be objective. [4]

And that’s exactly why Trump is targeting them – he knows that an informed public with access to independent journalism is a powerful defense against the manipulation, disinformation, and propaganda that his administration is pushing.

Sign the Petition to the Senate: Trump’s attacks on PBS and NPR are attempts to silence independent media. We must protect free, fact-based journalism and ensure access to trusted programming for all Americans.

SIGN THE PETITION

Studies show that democracies work best when we have strong public funding for independent news – ensuring all citizens can access rich and varied information. [5]

For decades, PBS and NPR have fulfilled this promise, even with much less public funding relative to other democracies around the world. [6]

They serve every corner of America – providing 99% of Americans with access to trusted, educational, and informative programming, whether they live in big cities or remote towns. [7]

This fight is about more than funding. It’s about speaking out against politicians who want to silence dissent, prevent accountability, and replace the impartial truth with propaganda and their chosen narrative.

If you agree we must protect independent media from Trump’s attacks, add your name to our Save PBS and NPR petition today >>

Thanks for all you do,

The team at Common Cause
