Leah B. Foley, United States Attorney for the District of Massachusetts, said those arrested violated immigration laws and some went on to commit crimes.
Patricia H. Hyde, field office director for ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations in Boston, said 1,461 criminal alien offenders were arrested in May in Massachusetts. Of those, 790 had “significant criminality,” including allegations of rape, murder, drug trafficking, sexual, child and spousal abuse. No further details were given.
