By Ben Meiselas The people have spoken. The people are taking to the streets. The people are rising up against the Trump and Musk regime. The people are pissed at corporate news covering up and suppressing coverage of the protests in the United States. Millions of people showed up to protest across thousands of cities and towns in the United States and throughout the world. Where was the coverage? There was barely a peep about some of the largest protests in United States history on corporate news. So where was the coverage of the protests? It was right here on the MeidasTouch Network. The corporate news has ignored the protests and resistance at its own peril, or its own cowardly instinct to appease Trump. Let’s talk data and numbers. The MeidasTouch Network was the most-viewed YouTube channel across all categories on YouTube (news, sports, gaming, comedy, kids, etc.) this weekend. We were number one precisely because we are covering the resistance and the protests. As Vanity Fair wrote: “The resistance won’t be televised, it’ll be on the MeidasTouch Network.” Very true. This weekend, the MeidasTouch Network was the most-watched YouTube channel in America with 9.6 million views a day and 611k likes a day as we relentlessly and meticulously covered the protests. Saturday Night Live came in third place with 7.6 million views a day and 222k likes. Fox News came in 10th place with 6.4 million views and 176k likes a day. CNN was in 33rd place, ABC News was in 61st place, and ESPN was in 81st place (during the NCAA Final Four). We never, for even a second, hesitated about covering the protests at the MeidasTouch Network. We see it as our duty and our responsibility. Frankly, this platform we’ve built with your help exists to ensure events such as the protests receive the distribution corporate news refused—and refuses—to provide. Trump and his inner circle never anticipated a network like MeidasTouch to emerge that would get more views than the corporate news networks who quickly submitted. The corporate news took their audiences for granted and never thought a people-powered network like ours would outflank them and surpass them with the truth. Here we are, Meidas Mighty and Maple Meidas. This is our “hands off” and “elbows up” moment. Shoutout to MoveOn, Indivisible, AFL-CIO, and all the other organizers of the protests. Shoutout to the volunteers and all who showed up to the protests. Shoutout to the “elbows up” movement in Canada. Shoutout to the entire pro-democracy community across the world who are standing in solidarity at this critical time. This is a critical time. This is a time when we must fight. These coming days, weeks, and months ahead will be pivotal in the fight against fascism and the Trump regime and the fascist forces across the globe. We, the people, hold the power to take back the world and reclaim our freedoms—not just for ourselves and those we fight for today, but for future generations. The fact that the MeidasTouch Network beat all corporate news and all channels in views and engagement precisely because we focused on covering the protests gives me a massive amount of hope. But I also know there are tough times ahead and we have to work harder than ever. Together! We would love your assistance in helping the MeidasTouch Network continue to grow if you would become a subscriber today or gift a subscription to someone you know. Thanks to you, the results and impact this network is having continues. Thank you, subscribers, and thanks to everyone for staying in this fight. |
