A Cabinet of fools
There is no sentence that I can write that can open the eyes of the willfully blind, the defiant deaf, or the numbed, anesthetized or indifferent to comprehend what they do not wish to see or hear.
Nevertheless, there is an urgent need to write about this moment. There must be a record laid down that makes clear some people saw the danger. Whatever fate has in store for us all, there will never again be any legitimate argument to be made that things will turn out alright as America slips towards doom.
Historians will record that there was never, ever a real question about the coming catastrophe after Jeffrey Goldberg published this astonishing story (gift link) in The Atlantic on March 24, 2025. Here is the headline:
“The Trump Administration Accidentally Texted Me Its War Plans”
The story defies belief.
Yet, it is true, and it is a harbinger of national disaster. Only a fool would dispute the ominous implications of the moral idiocy and bloodlust that cannot be unseen from a story that cannot be unread.
Primarily, it is a story of moral imbeciles yielding lethal power with recklessness, carelessness and a cavalier disregard for the lives and safety of the young American men and women they sent into harm’s way to kill.
Yet, it is so much more.
Donald Trump’s national security team has been exposed — and permanently unmasked — as moral degenerates. They are incompetent clowns, who beggar description because they stand peerless in the entire history of America as singularly inept, faithless and arrogant.
Michael Waltz, JD Vance, Pete Hegseth, Marco Rubio, Steve Witkoff, Stephen Miller, Tulsi Gabbard, Scott Bessent, Joe Kent and John Ratcliffe are monkeys with guns.
Though they are clowns, they are dangerous and untrustworthy. They cannot be feared. They must be opposed.
Let us get right to the heart of the moral rot and degeneracy of these fascist clowns, who cheer death as if they are playing a video game.

Here is how he described the scene after the surrender after touring Ohrdruf, one of the first concentration camps the Americans liberated:
I have never felt able to describe my emotional reactions when I first came face to face with indisputable evidence of Nazi brutality and ruthless disregard of every shred of decency. Up to that time I had known about it only generally or through secondary sources. I am certain, however, that I have never at any other time experienced an equal sense of shock.
I visited every nook and cranny of the camp because I felt it my duty to be in a position from then on to testify at first hand about these things in case there ever grew up at home the belief or the assumption that “the stories of Nazi brutality were just propaganda.” . . . I not only did so but as soon as I returned to . . . headquarters that evening, I sent communications to both Washington and London, urging the two governments to send instantly to Germany a random group of newspaper editors and representative groups from the national legislatures. I felt that the evidence should be immediately placed before the American and British publics in a fashion to leave no room for cynical doubt.
Here is how Ulysses Grant described the scene in the Appomattox Court House that saw the end of the Confederacy if not “the cause” or philosophy of the Confederacy
in America:
. . . our men commenced firing a salute of a hundred guns in honor of the victory. I at once sent word, however, to have it stopped. The Confederates were now our prisoners, and we did not want to exult over their downfall.
The Atlantic story exposes the deep hostility of JD Vance and the Trump Cabinet to America’s European allies, who have been betrayed and assaulted by the malice of this poisonous American regime. It has proven their malice to the American-led system that made this nation rich, powerful and prosperous beyond comprehension.

Remember, Trump and Putin “went through a hell of a lot” together.
The story demonstrates Pete Hegseth is unfit for command.
He is a partisan extremist who is fixated on Joe Biden and DEI. Not only is he focused on Biden at the moment, he is sending Americans into battle to score polemic points against Biden on Fox News.
It is sick. It marks a national rot that is deep, putrid and spreading.
Here is an example from Goldberg’s story:
Waiting a few weeks or a month does not fundamentally change the calculus. 2 immediate risks on waiting: 1) this leaks, and we look indecisive; 2) Israel takes an action first – or Gaza cease fire falls apart – and we don’t get to start this on our own terms. We can manage both. We are prepared to execute, and if I had final go or no go vote, I believe we should. This [is] not about the Houthis. I see it as two things: 1) Restoring Freedom of Navigation, a core national interest; and 2) Reestablish deterrence, which Biden cratered. But, we can easily pause. And if we do, I will do all we can to enforce 100% OPSEC”—operations security. “I welcome other thoughts.
Finally, Goldberg’s story demonstrates a carelessness and vapidity that is comical, unseemly and unsurprising.
In the end, it is a story about a farce that is turning darker by the second.
The implications of this story are profound.
Should it be the case that there is no reaction from the MAGA US Senate it will confirm that the US Senate has collapsed and ceased functioning.
Should it be the case there is no reaction from the Senate Democrats it will confirm that there is no organized Senate opposition to MAGA.
The recklessness is unspeakable.
