In the six weeks since Donald Trump won re-election, we've watched one establishment figure after another fold like a cheap suit.
Special Prosecutor Jack Smith voluntarily dropped all charges against Trump. FBI Director Chris Wray politely resigned so that Trump sycophant Kash Patel could take over. ABC News agreed to pay Trump $15 million. CEOs are lining up at Mar-a-Lago, hats in hand and cash in their pockets.
But while the elites submit to Trump and salivate over what he’ll do on their behalf, the grassroots progressive movement, including organized workers, is already assessing the threat, planning its response, and mobilizing a counterattack.
Common Dreams was founded with a simple yet potent mission: To inform. To inspire. To ignite change for the common good.
That mission does not bend. It does not break. In the darkest times, our work is needed more than ever. We are ready, but we need your support.
This is a time for offense, not defense. Are you with us? If so, please support our crucial End-of-Year Campaign. Every gift is the most important one, so please do whatever is possible to keep independent media strong.
