I’ve been taking on Matt Gaetz for years. It’s safe to assume that if he has an “enemies list,” I’m on it. Here’s why:
In 2019, we filed a House Ethics complaint on Gaetz for appearing to intimidate Michael Cohen the day before his Congressional testimony. Our filing got national and Florida local news coverage. Eventually, an investigation was launched.
On New Year's Day in 2021, I posted photos of Gaetz mask-less at a Mar-a-Lago party. I went on to say that, due to Covid, he shouldn't be allowed back in the Capitol for the now-infamous January 6th session.

Gaetz replied to me with this creepy statement: “I’ve already been banned from New Jersey and now they want to ban me from Congress. Sheesh. I’m a Florida Man. This is Trump/DeSantis/Gaetz Country. It will never be illegal to have fun in the Sunshine State.”

In April of 2021, I flagged 16 questionable Gaetz campaign transactions, and sent them to the House Ethics Committee. There’s a good chance we’ll see some of these expenditures in the report.
So on the day it was announced that Gaetz was picked to be the nominee for Attorney General, I immediately launched one of our first post-election letter-writing campaigns. In a matter of days, we made thousands of phone calls and wrote more than 5,000 letters to Senators, demanding they oppose Gaetz.
We also started a separate campaign to contact House Members, and urge them to release the report from their long investigation into Gaetz’s misconduct.
Eight days later, Matt had dropped out in disgrace, and joined Cameo—where he now films videos for anyone willing to shell out $325.
Our Watchdog Coalition has already sent more than 62,000 letters to Senators from their constituents, to oppose key unqualified cabinet picks. We pushed out Gaetz, now we’re focused on 9 other nominees.
When Gaetz was his most powerful, we pushed back against him relentlessly—just like we’ve done with Trump and his cult members for more than 8 years now.
