Georgia on my mind

I have never been prouder of Georgia.

Even as we face attempts to squeeze the people’s voices out of our democracy, the people of this state refuse to let our voices and our votes be silenced.

Over 2 million Georgians have already voted in this election, and many more will do so before early voting ends November 1.

With changes to our election rules coming down to the wire, voting early is our best bet to ensure record turnout in numbers too big to cry fraud.

In 2020 and 2021, Fair Fight helped drive record-breaking voter turnout among Georgians, particularly young voters and voters of color — flipping the Peach State blue for the first time in decades. Cynics said it wasn’t possible, but together we proved them wrong. We have the power to do it again, and to make the promise of democracy real for us all.

I was there, and I’ll never forget that feeling, knowing Georgia was taking a step into the future.

We will not and can not let Donald Trump and his allies cut away at our democracy by blocking voters and disregarding our voices. We refuse to be silent when they undermine election certification.

This year’s election is pivotal: it will determine whether we move forward as a nation or lose our democracy piece by piece.

That’s why, from now until November 1, we must educate voters on their power and mobilize turnout. November 5 is the last day to vote, but we’ll work right up until the polls close.

We can win this, Georgia — I know we can.

Thank you,

Senator Reverend Raphael Warnock
