Just a quick note from me tonight—I’ve been in Austin for the amazing Texas Tribune Festival, a celebration of non-profit journalism where thousands of people get together for three days of fascinating panels. You may have heard a little bit about it—Liz Cheney announced her Dad was voting for Kamala Harris here earlier this week!

I had the great good fortune to be here with this amazing crew of friends for a panel called Donald Trump versus the Department of Justice, with my friends Katie Phang from MSNBC, Katie Benner from the New York Times, Hugo Lowell from the Guardian, and former FBI Agent Frank Figliuzzi. And Preet Bharara and I taped an episode of our Insider podcast with the Atlantic’s Editor, Jeffrey Goldberg, which was fun, but also frightening. Talk about what a Trump 2.0 administration would look like is a stark reminder of the gravity of the moment we are living in.
