This is disgusting. Popular cereal brands like Cheerios and Cinnamon Toast Crunch are part of a vicious supply chain that VIOLENTLY robs and imprisons forest communities. |
General Mills, the mega-corporation behind these brands, is sourcing ingredients from shady companies that violate human rights. Palm oil suppliers like Astra Agro Lestari are pushing Indigenous communities off their lands, stealing, clear-cutting and burning the forests they live and work in. |
Why? To replace vital forests with massive palm oil plantations – a main ingredient in the brands we use every day – and of course, to maximize profits. |
To make matters worse, when forest defenders fight back they’re THROWN IN JAIL. Shady companies like the ones General Mills sources from have the power to bully, intimidate and abuse the law in order to rob forest defenders of their land and their freedom! |
This is a clear sign that our favorite cereals are putting profit over people and our planet. Corporations this big have ethical options to source ingredients for their popular products, but General Mills is choosing to ignore the harmful impact of its shady business model. |
We’re demanding an end to the abuse and destruction – no bowl of cereal is worth displacing communities and destroying Earth’s priceless forests. But we need to know supporters like you are standing with us.
