Urgent: Kitten season is here

 

When Amewlia Earhart was rescued from Tennessee, she was only a year old – still a kitten herself – but had endured so much pain surviving on her own. And she was pregnant. This mom-to-be desperately needed a safe place to give birth to her litter and receive the medical care she deserved to live a pain-free life. As you read this, more and more pregnant cats are arriving, and we want them all to have the same happy outcome as Amewlia. Upon her arrival, we observed Amewlia had a “missing eye” in her right socket, and later diagnosed her with microphthalmia, meaning she had a very small eye in the socket that was somewhat closed over. Over time, she started tearing from the socket and the lower lid rolled in, causing irritation. After her kittens were born, we gave much-needed comfort to Amewlia by removing her eye. Thanks to your compassion, this cat and her kittens are happy and healthy today! And Momma Amewlia has a big heart when it comes to caring humans.
