She was a mother. Enough is enough.

 

Before a vessel struck her and shattered her spine – she was a mother caring for her newborn calf. Just weeks ago, another right whale was found dead off the coast of Virginia. The whale, a female at least 35 years old, was last observed in February with her sixth known newborn calf, too young to survive on its own. Without its mother, that calf is certainly already dead now. Enough is enough. We must end these tragedies.
