THANK YOU!
THIS CORRECTS ONE MORE THING THAT DAFFY DON DESTROYED!
THIS IS CONSUMER PROTECTION.
We just delivered 126,000 of your petition signatures directly to the FCC – thanking Chairwoman Jessica Rosenworcel and her colleagues for restoring Net Neutrality! In case you missed it: the FCC voted yesterday to restore Net Neutrality – after tens of thousands of Common Cause members like you spoke out to demand free and fair internet access. That’s a major win for our democracy and it wouldn’t have happened without action from Common Cause members like you – thank you! Net Neutrality is the simple principle that companies like Verizon and Comcast should treat all web traffic equally – not pick and choose based on who is willing to pay more or who they like best. More than ever, a free and open internet has become essential for civic engagement and democracy. The internet is a public square for social justice organizing, and countless Americans rely on it for key voting information and online voter registration. That’s why Common Cause has been working to restore Net Neutrality ever since Trump’s FCC destroyed it in 2017. Right away, Common Cause spearheaded efforts urging Congress to undo the Trump FCC’s actions. And in 2018, we filed an amicus brief urging the courts to reinstate Net Neutrality – arguing that these protections are critical for civic engagement, civil rights, and democracy, particularly for communities of color. With your help, we’ve pushed back every step of the way, and this week our years of effort have finally paid off! You can visit our website to learn more about this major victory for our digital civil rights >> This victory shows that when we speak out for what’s right we can make a difference – it may take months or even years, but I wanted to share this update with you because you made it possible.
