Your Signature is Needed: Reduce climate emissions

$630 BILLION…

That’s how much the world’s largest purchaser of goods and services spends every year. Do you know how they procure these goods and services? With YOUR tax dollars!

That’s right. The world’s largest purchaser is the U.S. government, and it wields massive influence with that purchasing power, including $9 billion in direct food purchases. But right now, it buys food and other products from corporations that are polluting our communities and destroying the planet with greenhouse gas emissions, creating a MASSIVE CARBON FOOTPRINT from the federal government.

New proposed rules would leverage the federal government’s purchasing power to promote sustainable products and meet climate goals. But these rules aren’t guaranteed to be approved without your immediate help! Please, tell the Federal Acquisition Regulatory Council to use its MASSIVE purchasing power to protect communities and our planet! Sign the petition now!

Right now, greedy corporations are trying to hide their pollution from you as they rake in the profits. The proposed rules would require major vendors supplying the federal government, including food vendors, to disclose their greenhouse gas emissions to the public. This would force corporations like Tyson Foods, Lockheed Martin, and General Motors to report on their supply chain climate emissions.

With your help, we can also push the federal government to create higher standards of environmental quality for the products it purchases, helping ensure YOUR taxpayer dollars go toward products that are more sustainable like climate-friendly foods, recycled paper and energy efficient appliances.  Will you sign to support your TAX DOLLARS going toward sustainable companies – not greedy polluters?
