"CLAYTON COUNTY, Ga. — A woman has been found guilty of murder in the death of a hit-and-run driver in May 2019. Hannah Payne, 25, was convicted of chasing down and shooting Kenneth Herring, 62. She faced charges of malice murder, felony murder, aggravated assault, false imprisonment, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony. She was found guilty on all counts."

A jury found Hannah Payne guilty on all charges against her — including malice murder and felony murder — after deliberating for a few short hours. Payne shot and killed Kenneth Herring, a driver who caused a hit-and-run crash back in 2019. During her trial, Payne said she never pulled the trigger and her gun went off as she struggled with Herring. Payne will be sentenced for the crimes at a later date.
