In the village, a stray dog mother gave birth to a litter of puppies. I took a liking to the white one and wanted to take it home, which would help ease the burden of raising the pups for the mother. However, she was fiercely protective. Whenever I approached the puppies, she'd come out, barking and growling, scaring me off. Worried she might not have enough milk, I brought her food daily. Gradually, her hostility lessened. One day, I heard puppy cries at the door.
