VET TEAM GETS A DUST BATH CELEBRATION
Bani’s innocence as a baby elephant was stolen from her by a speeding train. In an instant, her future unravelled. She lost her herd and her mother … and possibly her ability to walk again.
But every day the little elephant makes progress in her long physical and emotional recovery. For the first time since her accident, Bani is able to practise balancing on her own legs! It was truly a moment to celebrate with cheers and an enthusiastic dust bath. It takes a dozen caregivers to get her up, and she still can't walk or even bring herself up from a seated position, but we are seeing small improvements every day.
What will Bani’s future hold now? When we first learned of her critical injuries, we knew if we didn’t help Bani, no one else could. We’ve got an elephant hospital and a team of expert veterinarians, but Bani needs you to help with her costly, around-the-clock care. The intensive care Bani is receiving costs more than $1,000 a day, so she needs a herd of new supporters to come to her rescue!
Will you stand with Bani and adopt this little orphaned elephant by becoming a monthly donor? A monthly pledge of $12 could provide her with the daily physical therapy she needs. Please help ensure this baby elephant's future.
PS: Bani is eager to explore her new world around the Elephant Hospital Campus, and meet new friends! You can make this dream a reality by adopting her today!
If you missed the news, Bani's hydrotherapy sessions are aiding her slow improvement. Watch closely and you can see a team of 17 strong people carrying her into the pool!
