'John was brave': Boeing whistleblower's lawyer responds to news of his death

 

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) — Robert Turkewitz, a lawyer for the now-dead John Barnett, said he's been working with him since 2017 when Barnett first raised the alarm about unsafe practices at Boeing. Barnett was found dead Saturday, March 9, with what the Charleston County Coroner's Office described as "a self-inflicted gunshot wound." Turkewitz said he last spoke to Barnett the night before. He claimed he was in good spirits and was set to get a good night's sleep.
