When a hunter ventures into the woods looking for game, he stumbles across a sight that leaves him in tears. A female dog is tied to a tree with a leash that prevents her from taking a single step. And when he looks closer, he is horrified to notice that she has a litter of puppies stashed beneath her. She is hurt and hungry, and he does his best to win her trust and set her free. When she finally recovers, the hunter discovers that her previous owner had a goldmine in his hands, and let it go out of ignorance.
