Folks — In a single night last month, Kevin McCarthy raised an astounding $12.3 million from a collection of donors from Big Pharma, the fossil fuel industry, and other corporate interests. It just goes to show everything that’s broken in Washington. We have a terrible system of campaign finance that has allowed the rich and powerful to buy off our elections ever since the Supreme Court’s 2010 decision in Citizens United v. FEC.
