In recently unveiled court filings from the Dominion Voting lawsuit against Fox News, internal messages from their hosts revealed that they had concerns about their statements on air. Recall that Dominion Voting Systems were attacked by multiple hosts on Fox - claiming they took part in a conspiracy to rig the election in favor of Joe Biden.
Some quotes from Fox's own, according to ABC news: "After host Maria Bartiromo tweeted about election fraud on Nov. 5, anchor Bret Baier pleaded to a network executive, "We have to prevent this stuff ... We need to fact check.""
"In mid-November 2020, host Tucker Carlson texted one of his producers that "there wasn't enough fraud to change the outcome" of the election, and later said that Sidney Powell, one of Trump's attorneys and a vocal promulgator of election denialism, "is lying." Months later, on Jan. 6, Carlson called Trump "a demonic force, a destroyer," in a text message to the same producer."
Multiple sources have reported on these court filings, as well as other instances in which Fox internally expressed concerns over the on-air claims, but continued to make them regardless.
We all know that Fox News and the GOP recycle their talking points and their misrepresentation to the American people. We have to be the ones to call them out and make sure that they facts are crystal clear. Can you chip in today and help us make sure that rural America knows the dangers about the danger of the MAGA GOP?
Thank you for standing with us and helping to determine fact from fiction in this turbulent era of misinformation.
