Marjorie Taylor Greene lashes back at Lauren Boebert over Speaker race: "She childishly threw me under the bus"

Two of the most hateful, spiteful, and vicious members of the MAGA movement have inevitably turned on each other now that power is up for grabs, showing once again how the MAGA movement is ultimately animated by nothing but nihilistic self-serving greed and ambition.

Joint Committee on Taxation report shows Trump paid 0 income tax for years
In yet another infuriating display of how the economy is rigged for the rich, a Congressional report revealed that Donald Trump paid 0 income tax for 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2020, and that he paid a total of $1,500 in income taxes for the years 2016 and 2017. In 2020, he even claimed a $5.47 million tax refund.

Take Action: Don't cut bipartisan deals with Republicans like Marjorie Taylor Greene!

While advising Trump on judges, Kellyanne Conway sold her business to a firm with ties to judicial activist Leonard Leo
Former White House senior adviser and Trump's lie czar Kellyanne Conway finds herself caught in yet another dire scandal as it now appears that judicial activist Leonard Leo helped facilitate the sale of her polling company in 2017 — as she was playing a key role in advocating for Leo’s handpicked list of Supreme Court candidates. While she tries to pass herself off as a respected politico, it's clear that corruption, sleaze, and grift are all she really cares about.

Trump tax returns will be made public, US House panel votes

A committee in the US House of Representatives has voted to make public six years of Donald Trump's shady tax returns. The move caps a nearly four-year legal battle by Democrats to obtain the documents, which was ultimately decided by the US Supreme Court last month.

Elon Musk says he will resign as Twitter CEO once he finds a replacement
The announcement comes in the wake of Musk holding an embarrassing public poll that revealed a majority of Twitter users do not want him to continue as the company's CEO. While he's promised to abide by the results, he has also promised to fix the water in Flint, create a $35,000 electric car, build a high-speed tunnel between New York and Washington, put 1 million robotaxis on the road by 2020, and fix world hunger — and he hasn't done any of that stuff. But even though he might not have to listen to his customers, he does have to listen to his shareholders — and his Tesla investors are NOT happy with Elon spending his days replying laughing-face emoji to @catturd2 instead of doing any real work.

Congress reaches deal to keep Puerto Rico's Medicaid program funded
Far too often the news about the island territory is bad as our federal government habitually neglects and mistreats the Puerto Rican people. Thankfully, the latest news is good as Congress reached a deal to fund Puerto Rico’s Medicaid program in a way that prevents it from running out of federal money by the end of the year and ensures stable funding for the next five years.

Human Rights Campaign honors transgender son of Kentucky Senator who died by suicide
The heartbreaking suicide of Henry Berg-Brousseau shows just how harmful the horrifying right-wing demonization of trans Americans can be for those struggling with their mental health. Berg-Brousseau worked as a Deputy Press Secretary for the Human Rights Campaign and will be remembered for his deeply passionate, deeply engaged, and deeply caring hunger for justice.

Millions to lose Medicaid coverage under Congress' plan
Millions of people who enrolled in Medicaid during the COVID-19 pandemic could start to lose their coverage on April 1 if Congress passes the $1.7 trillion spending package leaders unveiled Tuesday. The legislation will sunset a requirement of the COVID-19 public health emergency that prohibited states from booting people off Medicaid. The Biden administration has been under mounting pressure to declare the public health emergency over, with 25 Republican governors asking the president to end it in a letter on Monday.

CFPB orders Wells Fargo to pay $3.7 billion for widespread mismanagement of auto loans, mortgages, and deposit accounts
The banking giant Wells Fargo agreed to pay $3.7 billion to settle charges that it harmed customers by charging illegal fees and interest on auto loans and mortgages, as well as incorrectly applying overdraft fees against savings and checking accounts. This resulted in people having their homes wrongfully foreclosed on, cars and other possessions seized, and lives generally disrupted by an uncaring financial juggernaut. It is outrageous that Wells Fargo can be levied with FIVE multi-billion dollar fines for impropriety in the past ten years and see no more punishment than simply being forced to pay back the money they stole from their customers. What are we even doing here?

Today’s Action: Tell Howard Brown Health to not lay off workers right before Christmas!

Howard Brown Health Workers United just voted to authorize an imminent strike after learning that corporate executives at Howard Brown Health were planning to lay off at least 60 union staffers. The company’s disastrous decision will not only affect the livelihoods of some of our most important frontline workers, but also the Chicago community they serve. Beyond the sheer inhumanity and piss-poor timing of the plan, it will flip the care the company is able to provide to patients on its head. The planned layoffs will cut already understaffed areas of the hospital, completely slash LGBTQIA+ family planning services, and leave just two sexual assault trauma care persons and six therapists to serve 30,000 patients.

CEO David Munar’s milquetoast statement that the removal of 60 staffers would not affect patient care couldn’t be further from the truth. It will drastically impact the lives of staff, their family members, patients, and more. With this move, Howard Brown Health’s management is effectively saying they couldn’t care less about mental health and family planning in Chicago — or the people they employ. We won’t stand for it.

With a strike on the horizon, Howard Brown Health Workers United needs our solidarity now more than ever. That can come in the form of donations to the solidarity fund or angry emails to the people in charge, or both if you’re feeling impassioned. However you show your solidarity, do everything you can to tell Howard Brown Health to NOT lay off workers — especially right before Christmas. Bah humbug!

PS — Please don't forget to sign the petition to tell Congress to protect immigrant youth before Republicans can deport them, and be sure to follow us on TwitterFacebook, and Instagram.
