Former television newscaster and failed Republican candidate for Arizona governor Kari Lake not-so-subtly hinted at violence to a crowd of thousands of conservative activists Sunday, continuing her bogus claim that she really, no seriously, c'mon guys, won last month. At one point, Lake urged the audience to turn around and boo the “mainstream media” on a riser, failing to recognize the people she was insulting were actually a production crew for Turning Point USA, the rightwing event organizer. Oops.

The Vatican formally defrocked an anti-abortion US priest and guy you definitely don't want to have a beer with, Frank Pavone, for "blasphemous communications on social media" as well as "persistent disobedience" of his bishop. Pavone, a fervent Trumper who once placed an aborted fetus on an altar and posted a video of it on social media platforms, reliably played the victim card, tweeting, "So in every profession, including the priesthood, if you defend the #unborn, you will be treated like them!"

Mayor Bass, sworn in just eight days ago, declared homelessness a state of emergency and said she will begin moving LA's more than 41,000 unhoused people into hotels and motels while the city builds more affordable housing. Today’s Action: Tell Congress to hold the Keystone pipeline oil company accountable!
For years, environmental activists warned that TC Energy's sprawling Keystone pipeline would cause an environmental disaster — and, sadly, they’ve now been proven right. An oil pipeline failure on Dec. 7 has dumped more than half a million gallons of crude tar sands oil into Kansas' Mill Creek. It's the biggest oil leak in the United States since 2010.
While no drinking water sources have been contaminated yet, this is the third such incident for the beleagured Keystone 1 pipeline in the past five years. "There is no such thing as a safe tar sands pipeline and this is another disaster that continues to prove we must put our climate and our communities first," says Catherine Collentine of the Sierra Club.
It's long past time that Congress began holding these oil giants accountable for the damage their pipelines unleash on the environment and our communities.
