Stopping a national abortion ban

 

Wednesday, the Senate voted on codifying reproductive rights nationwide. Just as we expected, the bill failed after it couldn’t reach the 60-vote threshold. This is another slap in the face to hundreds of millions of Americans who are going to lose the right to control if, when, and how to start or grow a family. It’s even more terrifying that Mitch McConnell has started hinting that a national abortion ban may be coming if Republicans take back control of Congress this November.
