... did you watch the debate that just wrapped up between Brian Kemp and David Perdue? Oof.
We hope for your sake that you did not watch, because it was painful (though not surprising) to see Kemp and Perdue so shamelessly running to the extremes and dividing Georgians instead of engaging in a thoughtful, substantive dialogue about how to improve the lives of the people of our state.
At no point during their ugly, backward-looking verbal cagematch did either say anything about how to cover more than 500,000 Georgians who have been deprived access to Medicaid or how to bring back rural hospitals that have steadily closed due to a lack of resources.
we all need to do our part to make sure that Stacey Abrams, not Brian Kemp and not David Perdue, becomes our next governor. Can you chip in right now?
Here’s the thing, though: the most alarming moments of the debate came when Kemp and Perdue found areas of agreement. From their criminal carry law making it easier for criminals to carry a hidden, loaded gun in public without a permit to their refusal to expand Medicaid to their attacks on Georgia students and educators, we saw just how harmful either Kemp or Perdue would be should one of them win this election.
This first Republican debate showed us just how high the stakes are in this campaign. No matter who our opponent will be, Stacey will be up against someone who will do or say anything they need to win.
We can’t afford to wait, so we’re asking:
Will you make your next donation to Stacey’s campaign for One Georgia right now? Any amount you’re able to give — $5 or whatever makes sense for your budget right now — will make a real difference to our grassroots campaign. Chip in today >>
Thank you,
