We want to take you back in time today to 1992.
In 1992, Blockbuster was the top video rental leader, with over 2,800 stores worldwide. Construction just finished for the Mall of America. The first McDonalds in China opened up. "End of the Road" by Boyz II Men was the top song of the year. And a gallon of gas cost around $1.75.
1992 was also the last year a Democrat won a U.S. Senate election in Kentucky. Since then, our state has continuously slipped behind the rest of the country in education, health care, and economic opportunities. For generations, the people of Kentucky have borne the consequences of decades of failed leadership.
Enough is enough. For too long, Republicans have perpetuated the myth that Kentucky will always be “deep red.” But the truth is it’s a commonwealth where a whole lot of people haven’t felt heard in a heck of a long time. It’s a state where the number of people who don’t vote outnumber those who do. If we change that, we can vote out politicians like Rand Paul and put people at the center of our politics.
That’s why Charles is seriously thinking about running for U.S. Senate to unseat Rand Paul in 2022.
If you want to see us run, will you chip in $10 or anything you can to show your support? Every dollar you give sends a message to the GOP that a powerful grassroots movement is about to rise up in Kentucky.
We are the people leaders like Rand Paul have ignored for decades.
If we decide to run, this campaign will speak to the issues and the pain that we’ve felt under his failed leadership. Black, Brown, and White Kentuckians, from the hood to the holler, we all must rise up together.
That’s why your support is so important right now before we make an official decision. If you’re ready to start building the people-powered movement we need to transform the future of Kentucky, please make a donation today to show your support.
Thank you for everything. Let do this,
Team Booker
