Response Needed: Do you support Beto O’Rourke for governor?

 

Your efforts in 2020 led to some massive victories for Democrats all over the country. In 2022, we have the chance to top all of them -- we have the chance to elect Beto O'Rourke as the next governor of Texas.   With Beto said to be heavily considering a run against current governor Greg Abbott, Democrats have a lot to be excited about. It was Beto's 2018 statewide run for Senate that made him a household name. Now, with more Texans already acquainted with him, Beto can focus on winning more votes instead of trying to get their attention.   The current Republican governor Greg Abbott has been nothing short of an abysmal failure for Texans. His policies led to the deaths of tens of thousands of Texans during the coronavirus pandemic and his administration was tragically underprepared for the huge winter storm that hit Texas in February. Republican Gov. Greg Abbott has been a complete failure for the state of Texas. He resisted instituting any COVID safety measures during the pandemic, and as a result, over 50,000 Texans have died. He botched an emergency response to a historic winter storm so badly that millions lost their power for over a week and at least 151 people died. Just recently, he signed a fetal heartbeat abortion ban into law, effectively outlawing abortion 6 weeks after pregnancy begins.   To make matters worse, Abbott is trying to protect himself and other Republicans from the wrath of the voters by signing new, expansive voter suppression policies into law earlier this month. Gov. Abbott knows that Texans don't want another term in office for him, and Beto O'Rourke's candidacy is only going to make that more apparent. Texas needs a governor that will fight for regular people, not one that protects big business and fans the flame of culture wars that seek to divide us. Help us elect Beto O'Rourke as Texas's next governor.
