Koch brothers attack Medicare for All

Koch Attack

Americans for Prosperity - a Koch-funded rightwing org - is behind a new bill in Florida that would require a 2/3 majority vote to pass a state single payer bill. This bill is a clear attack on both healthcare justice and democracy, and if passed would set a dangerous precedent.

Even if you're not in Florida, you can still take action on this bill:

TAKE ACTION

S. 340, introduced by Sen. Manny Diaz, has already passed through 3 committees of jurisdiction and only has to pass through one more to get a vote on the Senate floor: the Rules Committee.

Florida and non-Florida residents: Please share this tweet at the Chair of the Rules Committee, Kathleen Passidomo, asking her to vote NO on this bill. Also let her know in the comments that this bill is unacceptable.

Florida residents: if your Senator sits on the Rules Committee, ask them to vote NO on this bill. If your Senator is not on the Rules Committee, you can call the Chair and ask her to vote NO. Click below for their names and office numbers:

There are 15 Senators on the Florida Senate Rules Committee; if you live in the state, please call your Senator and ask them to vote NO on this bill.

Then please email us back and let us know what they say.

TAKE ACTION

The next step you can take is to forward this email on to any Floridians you know and encourage them to sign up for email updates from Healthcare-NOW.

In solidarity,
