Aaron Darr: STATEMENT ON THE OUTCOME OF THE 2020 PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION

STATEMENT ON THE OUTCOME OF THE 2020 PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION:
It’s no secret that Joe Biden has endured tremendous pain and loss.
In the past 4 years, especially this year alone, we’ve seen 240,000 Americans die from COVID-19.
Deaths that were preventable had we not had an administration that “downplayed” the virus, science, medicine, and best practices (social distancing and face masks).
So many Americans petrified in their last moments who would die alone. Families and loved ones who will never have closure because they never had the chance to say goodbye.
I believe everything happens for a reason. I wonder if the loss and tragedy Joe Biden has experienced in his own life prepared him to run for president at the time in which America needed him the most during a period of loss for so many Americans. He understands our loss, our heartache, because he has lived it.
I only hope and pray that those who did not support President Elect Joe Biden will give him the chance I did to President Trump to be the American president we needed him to be. Unfortunately, President Trump never rose to the occasion. I do believe that Joe Biden will.
Joe Biden may have run for president as a democrat, but he is now going to be a president for all of America.
I know some of you who support Trump are disappointed or feel lost or hopeless. I understand, I felt that way 4 years ago when Hillary lost. Your joy then was my loss. My joy now, is your loss.
My point being, we all suffer loss, whether it be an election or the loss of a loved one. I just hope we come together to understand and appreciate that we have so much more in common than what separates us.
