WASHINGTON — None of the families who attended a Gold Star family event at the White House at the end of last month have tested positive for COVID-19.

The Greatest Generation Foundation, the organization that arranged trips for families, reported Thursday that the families are doing well.

“Considering it has been 12 days since the event, All Gold Star Families are all doing well and exhibit no symptoms of COVID-19,” an email from the group read.

West Barnstable resident and Republican candidate for state representative in the 5th Barnstable District Steven Xiarhos attended the event with his two daughters and they continue to be negative, according to his campaign.

“I have personally taken several tests, and all have come back negative,” Xiarhos said in a statement Friday. “However out of an abundance of caution and per public health guidelines, I am finishing out my quarantine period at my home.”

The former Yarmouth deputy police chief’s quarantine ends Sunday, according to the campaign.
