The good news is that no matter what the final count is, we expect to maintain our lead by a strong margin. Jamaal currently holds a double-digit lead over Eliot Engel from the votes that have already been counted. But the bad news? Eliot Engel, despite currently being down by 25 points, is filing a lawsuit against the BOE so he can challenge decisions around absentee vote counts. Our campaign is 100% committed to making sure that every single ballot cast is counted. And this lawsuit could potentially make that more difficult.
